Ramayana stands out as a major cinematic project, holding a 195-minute runtime and a U certificate for its theatrical release.
Production Scale and Storyline
Producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari chose to split the massive narrative into two standalone cinematic parts instead of shortening the story. The first part covers Prince Rama’s youth, his marriage to Sita, and the emotional trials leading up to the forest exile. The project is backed by visual effects powerhouse DNEG and features a musical score co-composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
Global Release and Cast Details
The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Kannada superstar Yash as the antagonist Ravana. For its international rollout, the movie received a PG-13 rating in North America, while the international English-dubbed cut is reported to be trimmed by approximately thirty minutes for Western multiplex audiences. Indian viewers will see the film over the Diwali holiday weekend. Ramayana is scheduled to hit global cinemas on November 5 across territories worldwide.
