India choose to bowl first against New Zealand in T20I

India skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first against New Zealand in the ongoing T20I series.

India Lineup and Team Status

India entered the fixture holding a 2-0 lead in the series. Captain Shreyas Iyer secured his third win in three tosses, opting to bowl for the third consecutive time in the matches against New Zealand. The team fielded an unchanged playing eleven for the fixture.

Ishan Kishan remained sidelined as he continued his recovery from a groin strain that previously kept him out of the second T20I played in Christchurch. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had replaced Kishan in the lineup, though it remained to be seen if he would retain his batting position at No. 3.

New Zealand Changes and Playing XIs

In contrast to their opponents, New Zealand made three alterations to their side, focusing entirely on their pace attack. Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson sat out as expected, while Nathan Smith also missed selection. They were replaced in the team by Adam Milne, Kyle Jamieson, and Matthew Fisher.

The complete India lineup featured Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, captain Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prince Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh. New Zealand’s playing eleven comprised Finn Allen, wicketkeeper Tim Seifert, Bevon Jacobs, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Michael Bracewell, captain Mitchell Santner, Matthew Fisher, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, and Jacob Duffy.
