In a massive boost to the “Make in India” initiative, construction on the state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication facility in Maharashtra has reached its final phase. The multi-billion-dollar project, backed by a consortium of global tech giants and the Indian government, will soon begin manufacturing advanced microchips used in everything from smartphones to electric vehicles. The facility is expected to dramatically reduce India’s reliance on electronic imports and establish the state as a premier global technology hub. Operations are slated to begin by the end of the year, directly generating over 15,000 highly skilled jobs for engineers, data analysts, and IT professionals, alongside thousands of indirect employment opportunities.
