The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has officially announced that the highly anticipated uncrewed test flight for the Gaganyaan mission is ready for launch next week from the Sriharikota spaceport. This critical orbital test is the final stepping stone before India attempts to send its own astronauts into space. The upcoming mission will rigorously test the crew module’s life support systems, atmospheric re-entry dynamics, and the critical abort and parachute deployment mechanisms. Success in this phase will clear the path for the crewed mission, positioning India to become the fourth nation in the world to launch human beings into space using indigenous technology.
