In a monumental leap for space exploration, the NASA Artemis II crew is scheduled to splash down in the Pacific Ocean today, successfully concluding their historic 10-day mission around the Moon. This marks the first time humans have traveled beyond low Earth orbit since the Apollo era. The Orion spacecraft will re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere at unprecedented speeds before deploying its massive parachutes for a safe landing. Recovery teams, led by the US Navy, are on standby to retrieve the astronauts and the capsule, marking a massive milestone and a successful precursor to the upcoming Artemis III lunar landing mission.
