Several regions in Maharashtra are experiencing a sharp rise in temperature, with cities like Nashik and Nagpur recording temperatures above 39–40°C. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert predicting rain and thunderstorms in parts of the state over the next 48 hours. The sudden change in weather patterns may bring temporary relief from the heat but also poses risks such as strong winds, lightning, and crop damage. Farmers have been advised to take precautions to protect their harvest, while citizens are urged to stay hydrated and avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours. Health officials have also warned of increased cases of heatstroke and dehydration, especially among children and elderly people.
